Mrs Buckley

Hello, I am Mrs Buckley. I am delighted to be a part of the Highwood team, and I am excited to be teaching Year 6. My background is teaching in secondary schools as an English specialist and I thought it was time to bring these skills to the younger years and help prepare them for their educational journey into a secondary setting. One of my strengths is building relationships with my students. My teaching style is lots of fun with firm and distinct boundaries. I love anything related to reading, writing and imagination. I believe books help us explore new worlds and broaden our minds.

Before teaching, I spent over twenty years as a hairdresser, so do not be surprised if my hair changes regularly, or your children arrive home with new hairstyle suggestions!

Outside of school, you will find me and my husband walking our little dog Luna, who is the cutest dog in the world. I can also usually be found with my head in a book, as I am currently entering my third year of studying for my PhD in Children’s Literature – I do like to be busy!

Mrs Hind

Hello, I am Mrs Hind.

Anyone who knows me will know that, for as long as I can remember, I always said I wanted to be a teacher. Throughout my teaching life I have had the pleasure of teaching children from Reception, all the way up to Year 6! I have spent most of my time teaching Year 2 and Year 5/6, and no matter what the age, I still try to make learning as fun as possible! I am creative and love to run, especially at the end of a long day teaching! I have two little girls, so after teaching all day, I then go home to my second job of being mummy!
