Dear Parents / Carers,
Cake Sale
Thank you and well done to year 5 for their cake sale this week. It raised a fantastic £52.70 which will go into our school fund and help pay for a Creative Arts themed week that we are planning for the end of the Spring term.
English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL)
Starting on 1st March, we will be running an English course for parents/grandparents/carers of children at Highwood Primary School. We have quite a few parents who have signed up already, but there is space for a few more.
The 15 week course is free of charge and is accredited by City & Guilds. If you or a close family relation would be interested in this, then please contact the school office or Kat Belcher in our Family Centre.
This is a great opportunity and hopefully continues to show our investment in the Highwood community.
Sign2Sing
A reminder for next Wednesday Sign2Sing event which will be taking place in school. Sign2sing is an annual event, organised by the Deaf Health Charity SignHealth, which raises essential funds to help vulnerable deaf children and adults. Your £1 donations will go towards a great cause.
Litter
There has been a large amount of litter appearing on the school site over the past few weeks. Most of these
items are drinks cartons, crisp packets or sweet wrappers. Could we all make a big effort to make sure that our rubbish goes into one of the many bins on the school site please.
Absences
My final plea this week is for parents to provide us with more specific details when children are ill. We monitor attendance regularly and it is difficult for us to spot patterns if we receive ‘unwell’ as the stated reason. We would like to be able to help families in this area and the more detail we have the better.
Thank you for your support.
